RDW Design House (8A Aviatorilor Boulevard) will be an important meeting spot for the creative community in Bucharest.
A selection of carefully curated products made by Romanian designers will be presented in a pop-up concept store, ranging from ceramics, clothing, books, stationery, accessories and jewelry.
In addition, four international contemporary design exhibitions, connecting local audiences to the most vibrant design events on the international scene, will be hosted by RDW Design House as part of Design Flags. The four exhibitions are "Sustain Able Voices - Young Swedish Design", "Graphic Days® - Singular Plural", "Madrid Design Portrait" and "Carteles de Barcelona".
The exhibition Sustain Able Voices - Young Swedish Design will showcase innovative, trans-disciplinary projects created by Swedish designers from 2004 to 2020, as possible responses to climate issues and the negative impact of human activity on the environment. The selection includes both possible solutions to practical problems of everyday life and conceptual projects for a better future: experimental, courageous and open.
Graphic Days® - Singular Plural is a Graphic Days® project curated by Fabio Guida and Ilaria Reposo. The collective exhibition covers different time periods and geographical areas, with the aim of presenting the roots of Italian traditions and history. The project was presented for the first time during the Graphic Days® Festival, held in Turin (Italy) in October 2020.
Madrid Design Portrait features a collection of works created by designers who were part of the Madrid Design Portrait audio-visual project. The exhibits offer a panoramic view of the exuberance and diversity of an industry that is playing an increasingly important role in Madrid's cultural scene. Among the many disciplines represented in this group portrait, designers with a strong connection to architecture, product design and textile design have a place of honour, offering a glimpse of what Madrid design means today.
The exhibition Carteles de Barcelona tells the stories of the Spanish city through a collection of posters signed by 25 designers.
The international design exhibitions will be open to the general public from 5-13 June from 10:00 to 20:00, with free admission.
RDW Design House is a destination dedicated exclusively to adult smokers. Minors are not allowed. The event will be organised taking into account social distancing and all rules and recommendations in force at the time.
