Romanian Design Week and Concéntrico share a passion for the city and a desire to connect residents with the urban environment, promoting connection, dialogue, and urban interventions that bring the community together.
Since 2015, Concéntrico has been transforming the city of Logroño in Spain into a laboratory of innovation. In its 10 years of existence, the festival has developed over 150 interventions exploring new collective uses of public space and strengthening the community through shared experiences.
Since its first edition, the city has been a constant concern for Romanian Design Week. From the preservation of spaces that give it its identity, to the city's imprint in our emotional memory, from the relationship between the residents and Bucharest, to exploring how design can actively contribute to a friendlier urban environment, the 12 editions held so far have included at least one component of the discourse dedicated to the city.
"Objects in the City"invites creators to design a temporary intervention that reimagines existing elements of the urban environment through minimal design exercises. The joint call aims to create a framework for ideas that emphasize sustainability, innovation, and a deep understanding of community needs. Through this initiative, solutions are sought that not only meet the functional demands of the city but also contribute to the creation of a more harmonious, pleasant, and efficient urban space.
The call is international and open to all creators who can propose temporary intervention projects from any discipline, including architecture, landscaping, design, and art.
