The exhibition "Posters for Mondays & Tuesdays" is created by Daniel & Andrew Design Advisory and is presented as part of Romanian Design Week with the support of the Czech Centre Bucharest.
For over 15 years in its current format, the Czech Centre Bucharest has been a place where many people interested in culture, visual arts, human rights, and, of course, Czechia have stepped in at least once. And if not, they have certainly heard about it from friends as a well-known spot in the heart of Bucharest. Over the years, film has become one of the pillars of the Czech Centre’s activities, even though its multifunctional event hall is not a traditional cinema. However, on Mondays and Tuesdays, for four weeks every spring and autumn, the hall fills up with people eager to discover thought-provoking documentaries and Czech fiction films in all their forms—from slapstick to horror, from drama to science fiction.
Documentary Mondays was launched in 2007 and is the longest-running project of the Czech Centre. It quickly became a landmark event in Bucharest and traveled to several cities across the country. The program presents Czech, international, and Romanian documentaries, many of them premieres, sometimes followed by discussions with directors, critics, or experts. Over time, the success of the program led to a clear conclusion: there was also a need for screenings on Tuesdays. So, in 2018, Fiction Tuesdays was born—a spontaneous idea with no big expectations at first, which soon completed the picture with Czech fiction films, some lesser-known to Romanian audiences, others milestones of the Czechoslovak New Wave. Together, they offer a broad view of Czech cinema, from classics to contemporary productions.
Each season brings something new and surprising but also a familiar atmosphere because the Czech Centre is a place of belonging—friendly, open to debates and new ideas. Maybe the Czech beer offered as a gift to the audience plays a role, but what truly matters is that these film nights have become a cultural landmark in Bucharest, attracting both passionate cinephiles and curious spectators alike.
The story of the posters in the exhibition "Posters for Mondays and Tuesdays" began in 2018 when, with the launch of Fiction Tuesdays, Daniel & Andrew became one of the Czech Centre’s close collaborators. Each film in the program came with a poster capturing its essence, used for event promotion on social media, in the press, and in print—distributed in cafés, universities, and other relevant spaces. Even during the pandemic, when screenings moved online, the collaboration continued, and the posters created by Daniel & Andrew visually represented each series in their signature style.

These posters are not just promotional materials but also graphic artworks that capture and shape the identity of the Documentary Mondays and Fiction Tuesdays programs each season.
This exhibition is not just a retrospective but a celebration of a visual identity built over time—an artistic collaboration that has become part of the Czech Centre’s story.
